Any rumblings from the manufactuer if this will ever be available in 10mm?

Since Springfield has not shown any intention of making the 1911 in 10mm again, I think it's safe to say they're not interested in engineering pistols for this cult cartridge. I don't think we'll ever see an XD in 10.

I think it's safe to say that Springfield won't be doing any engineering, regardless of what calibers the XDs are made in.

I just don't see the interest in 10mm to be great enough to financially justify chambering it in the XD. The 10mm devotees are fanatical but too few in number for the investment SA would have to make.
I think the more likely development would be a conversion of the XD45 by bar-sto or whoever. However, between extractor, ejector, and magazine issues I don't see a conversion as ever being reliable. Of course somebody may prove me wrong. But if I was jonesing for a 10mm I would look elsewhere than the XD.

I'm sure aftermarket barrels will be available.
Check with Bar-sto.

The 10mm is a great round but has always needed a good platform. The xd would be great. I have had several 10's over the years and had nothing but good results. Some will say the 10 is not needed since the 40 is its ballistic twin. Only if you are running light loads! The 10 can be the equal to a 41 magnum factory load, if loaded to the original pressures and velocities. A 15 rnd 10mm with 165 grain speer gold dots loaded to 1400 fps would yeild some 718 lbsft of muzzle energy! That's impressive in anyones book!
