I took my 40SC to the range again today. The first three mags produced the same problems I had had the other day.

After that, I had no problems at all.

One of the guys that work there said it could have just been because the pistol wasn't yet through its break-in period.

I ran 350 rounds of various types of ammunition today including the rest of the WWB that I was using before.

I must say that I left relieved. After running more than 300 rounds through it without incident, I think it was a couple of things:

1. The mag springs were so tight that they were pushing the round really high out of the top of the mag. This made locking the mag in place very difficult.

2. As with any polymer pistol, there were probably slight burrs and flaws left over from the manufacturing process that made the gun fussy to shoot until it had broken in a little bit more.

Make sure to leave your mags loaded between range trips. The springs in these mags are very stiff when new and do need a bit of a "break in" period. Also...somone else mentioned that you may be overloading your mags. Don't put more than 9 rounds in the small mags...just because you can jam 10 in there doesnt mean you are supposed to.
I'm not sure if you are doing this but it is possible. I did it a few times with my XD-40SC and didnt even realize I was doing it.

I didn't realize that was even possible. I'll make sure I pay attention to how many rounds I'm stuffing in my mags from now on.

BTW, that is a really messed up avatar you have there.
