Which way to punch the chamber indicator pin?
I'm going to disassemble my slide to send it in. Which way do I punch out the loaded chamber indicator pin?

It comes out either way. This pin is not tapered like some of the other pins.

All of these are wrong
Only go as if shooting the pistol. From right to left to remove. Or the ejection port side then move it towards oppisite the ejection port side. To reinstall proper (this way your smith or armorer will also do it right and hve no problems down the line) Always install as if shooting the pistol from left and push the pin towards the right. The pin has been peened and deformed on the left hand side (as if shooting the pistol) to hold it in place. So dont push the pin in with the deformity first, as the pin goes in it can deform even more and can get really really stuck. When you reinstall the pin look at both ends one end will have the deformity. Push the good end in first from the left hand side and tap the pin in until the pin is just in and the deformity holsd it in place. If you do it the proper way, later on down the line some one will expect to remove the pin the proper way and if you put it in backwards and on the wrong side you could create problems. |
