It doesn't take too long to explain....if you know the answer.

longuns-yes
handguns-no (you can buy, but they must be shipped to an ffl in your state)

You can buy a gun there, but you have to get an FFL dealer in your town, get all their info from them, talk to them about it before you even go down there to buy a gun. Then buy a gun from an FFL dealer down there, and he can ship the gun to your FFL dealer. You have to give the dealer in AZ the info for your FFL. You cannot just buy a gun and take it home with you. You can only buy a gun and take it home if it is purchased in your state, well that's handgun at least. Shotgun or rifle, you can purchase down there as far as I know, as long as you purchase from an FFL dealer.

You can buy a long gun as AZ is contiguous to NM. A handgun would have to be a private party sale or would have to be completed through an FFL. AZ and NM allow private party transfers.

I thought FTF private party transers of handguns could only be completed with an individual who lives in your same state. Meaning he could do ftf with someone in NM, but not AZ. Somebody correct me if i'm wrong.

so if i buy from an ffl in Az i will not be able to just bring it back, they will have to ship it to an ffl in new mexico
