hey thanks to all for the offers. Backslash was right they do have a 9mm at delray. I'll probably head over there sometime tomorrow to try it out. Figgy I appreciate the offer I may still take you up on it. Is the sub compact really different for the regular sized xd? I really just want to get a feel for the trigger, because I got the HK p2000 with the LEM trigger and I didn't like that at all. I like the Dak trigger Sig has, and I shot a Glock 27 that was good too. I'm guessing that the xd is similar to the glock. Is that an accurate assumption?

yeah the trigger is really close to a glock. i like the xd better than the glock, the glock is alittle to soft for me. as far as the sub over the service im more accurate with the service over the sub but not really bad. when i first got the sub i didnt have the peirce finger extensions and shot like crap but once i got the finger extension my shooting really improved. i also got the full size mag with the sleeve and i shoot almost identical as i would with the service. i shoot berettas all day long and its nothing compared to the xd. but as far as shooting goes we can figure it out , we can meet half way or you come here or vice versa ill let you shoot a couple hundred rounds through her to get the feel . if your interested in the 45gap let me know in advance so i can see if i can get them at wal mart ( i did a scam to get them to keep it in stock) and if not i got to call around

Hey xentrik, I've shot plenty at Markham Park. Accomodates rifles and pistols. They are sticklers on safety and I like that. BSO has a range next door to the public range but you won't get on it unless by invitation. If you fellas wanna set something up mid-late April, I'm in. Your welcome to try out my XDs.

P.S. If anyone has a 45acp and wants to join in, please do.

Any idea how far it is from WPB?
I'd like to do something around the 15th of April...except pay taxes!

Seems none of us can get our schedule's together. I work a PT job on Saturday, usually 12 hour shifts, and my regular job is now Sunday to Thrusday

I'll check in with you all after the "season" is over (Mid May) and I can try to get a Saturday off.

Nick, I might be able to slide out of the office for a couple hours on a Friday if you want to hit Gators or Tactical Zone...I guess PB shooting Center is about the same distance from Okee blvd as the Tactical zone exit (blue heron, IIRC.)

Hey I went to delray and shot the xd service today. It was pretty good. I went with my mom cuz she's looking for a lil carry piece. She has small hands and the grip fit her fine. She was able the hit the target almost every time. One time she was aiming at the head and ended up shooting the stick you roll the target on. Shot it about in half then the target was just kind of dangling there. It was hilarious. Needless to say I wasn't concentrating on shooting tight groups, as much as I could have. It didn't seem as accurate as the sig 229 I shot but its pretty good though.The XD was a pretty well used rental too.

Figgy I agree with you the trigger was not as soft as the glock and I liked the XD better. I may not need to there's a couple gun shows down here the next couple weeks so I may have one by then.

Markham is a good hour from West Palm depending on traffic and what part of WP your coming from. Its basically Near the Sawgrass Expressway (869) and I-595 info here http://www.markhampark.com

So Flo, got to be at least 30 or more lanes easy. It's outdoor but covered overhead with shooting benches at the front and tables at rear for your stuff. They also have skeet and trap ranges and a sporting clays course next door to the rifle/pistol range. To get there, you jump on the turnpike and head south from wpb and exit on 595 in ft. lauderdale heading west. I'd say from wpb, about 45min to an hour tops. Best time to shoot on saturdays is around opening time. On sundays it's fairly slow. Lemme call tomorrow or sunday to find out times etc. They do shut down for maintenance periodically so will check on next month's sked as well.

I recently purhased a XD 45 ACP from IPS 9111 Store in Hollywood Blvd, FT Lauderdale for $469 !! I had bought a Glock from them a few years back, and know for a fact that their prices are better than any gunshow! (Much cheaper than Delray Shooting Center's $639)
