So I go down to the freindly neighborhood Gun Store, ready to fork over the cash and walk out with a new toy.
And they have NO 9mm 5" XD's. This is a place that sells 400-500 XD's a year!

The guy tells me that he can get 1, count 'em 1, OD Tactical, but if I want Black, I'm going to have to wait. One week, 6 months, who knows? He tells me that SA isn't making any right now, cause they're cranking out XD-45's with all their might.
So I swing by Sportsman's on the way home, and sure enough, THEY don't have any either.

Took me almost 2 months to get mine I ordered just after the first of the year

When I purchased my XD-40 SC a couple of weeks ago they had a .40 tactical and a .45 service, both in black. Want me to check to see if the .40 tactical is still there? I realize you said 9mm but the .40 is a damn good round, especially in a longer barrel. I’m sure they could arrange some type of transaction. They are family owned and excellent business and gun people.

Yes, don't underestimate the larger .40 S&W cartridge, I'm curious about how much the .40 tac runs for at a supposed better businesss gun shop so checking if it's available would be great SharkZF6.

They had .40 Tacticals. But I've got several 9's and if I go with yet one more caliber, it'll be the XD45. I'd really like to stick to 9mm, though.

I have a new 9mm black tactical with the kit, that I let a customer shoot 1 box of winchester white box ammo thru. $465.00 delivered to BB's FFL

Remember the older XD's only come with 2 mags and a box.
The newer ones come with the modified block and the 3 piece kit.
