The only two options I am aware of are Canyon Creek, and SA Custom shop. There were a couple of folks that did some work on their own, but don't remember if it was to remove pre-travel or the reset.

Check out your local gunshops. I had a trigger job done on a pistol for $65.00. Works mighty fine.

Almost any competent gunsmith can reduce the pull (reduce poundage) on an XD trigger, which does make a big difference. However, to reduce creap (pre-travel), reset and overtravel it takes more experience and a good understanding of how the XD trigger works. If you know of a good gunsmith I would certainly ask if they feel comfortable tackling the job, otherwise bite the bullet and send it to the man.

good luck

I guessing that specific parts need to be shortened to reduce creep, I'm no gunsmith but I'm not afraid to work on my gun myself and having an xd that has an easy brief trigger pull to shoot rounds with daily is something everyone desires(along with being able to make conversation with your xd ).

The XD trigger is specifically designed with pre-travel. To eliminate it would require a re-design of the trigger. It is possible to reduce it I understand. But I personally like the XD trigger just as is. Give it a few hundred rounds and you'll learn to love it too.

Yes, I'm thinking what AK is saying here. Maybe I missed something but the XD trigger, like the Glock trigger, is not like a classic SA trigger. There really is no creep with this type of trigger, at least, not in the classical sense. The more you shoot it, the smoother it will break but the pre-travel, as some call it, is intentional and will remain. It's designed that way for a reason - DAO with no safety.

And I’ll say this too though you may already know this. When you shoot the XD or a Glock, you never let the trigger return to home position until you’re done. You only have to let the trigger out a few millimeters after every shot to reset it, so the actual pull is very short from shot to shot; the pre-travel does not come into play while shooting.

There's a guy on the Brian Enos forum that does trigger jobs. I'm not sure if he does it on a regular basis or not. IIRC his screen name is "Loves2shoot" or something like that..

Interesting information SharkZF6, though I'm not sure if I totally understand and I will never be a fan of glock. So people are worried about reducing the poundage (I know I am) in the pull with their xds rather than the bearly non existant creep.

Curious what is DAO? Double action only?

There is so much to absorb when it comes to firearms, but it's probably just me.

Rich at Canyon Creek can reduce the total travel of an XD trigger to 1/8 of an inch. The service comes highly recommended by several people on this forum.
