hehehehe I did the same thing with the barrel being in front of the locking block. Aggravating as all get out isn't it? Just need 2 clamps, hammer and a brass bolt or some very hard hard wood that can fit in the gun so you can whack the back of the barrel to wards the front of the gun. I swear, since I did it it seems that everyone is doing it now.

Here is a better picture.. I stole AJames artwork and kind of moved it around to make it more clear..

If you put the spring into the rectangular shaped hole in the direction I have pointed to in red.. you will see that the short arm nestles in there nicely, and once you get the whole assembly into the frame and the grip safety pin through the frame/lever/spring the grip safety lever will have a healthy bounce to it that will make you feel good inside!!

Hope that was helpful.. and AJames, if you read this, I hope you don't mind me stealing your artwork!

I got it,I got it. A dark cloud passed by. I was placing small end all the way thru the hole and wasen't getting tension. If that makes sense. It's all together. Man I got good at taking rear group of parts in and out. By the way, I used a slave pin (piece of plastic wire) when I placed the grip safety back in. It help keeping the spring in place. I still would like to learn how to UNJAM this pistol with a hammer and a some clamps?? I didn't see it done. You know the "jam" when the feed ramp is in front of the locking block. That should be a STICKY. The poor basta$% that happens to LOL OH by the way, I also learned what the rubberband was for- It's because we don't have three hands.

I am looking to pull out my grip safety, sensitize it and put it back in. Can I pull out JUST the grip safety or do I need to pull all the other pins first?
Thanks!!

If you are asking about what I mean by sensitize, I want it so that the slightest movement will disengage the safety. Currently, it must be flush with the grip to disengage. This does not work well for the way that I grip the gun. During fast mag changes as I regrip the gun and go for the next shot after the reload I discover that the gun does not go bang! I must readjust my hand to make sure I am pressing the safety all the way in.
What I am asking is "can I remove just the grip safety and put it back together without removing the pins for the ejector, sear, etc?"

Yes you can, but it will be much easier to remove the sear also.

here it took me 5 minutes to fully disassemble my pistol frame and put the grip safety on.

a qtip is all you need

put the spring in like so, it wont line up wit the pin holes but it will stay in place if you put it in correctly

cut one end of the qtip off like so and line up the spring with the pin holes while pushing the qtip through.

trim the qtip on both side so that its flush and wont snag on the frame where the sear rests

its easier to drop the safety in from the top

it might take some wiggling around but push the pin thru, it might require some tapping but itll go in pushing the qtip out in the process.

thats it. it take some practice but this is the easiest fastest way i have come up with.

Great tutorial, Htown! I had read people saying to use a q-tip but I wasn't getting what they meant.
