Is my xd still going to be accurate????

Hey guys i noticed while cleaning my xd 40. tonight that some of the finish on the crown of my xd was rubbed off/shiny. I try to make sure that while cleaning that I'm careful with the crown and use a brass brush but even with that the finish is missing so the question is should i send it to springfield and have it checked out? Or keep it as is? I'm curious because right after i bought the pistol i noticed that the finish on the slide was thin on the top to the left of the front sight so could it be that their finishing job was not that great i don't know, what do you guys think?

nothing to worry about in regards to the crown.

if something is wrong with the finish on the slide I'd talk to springfield and see if they'd fix it.

I talked to them in the past about the finish on the slide and they said it couldn't be proved that it came like that from springfield. That i would have to pay them to refinish it.

Posted this earlier, will try it again...

You aren't going to hurt your bore/crown with a brass brush; if so, you'd see competition rifle shooters never touch them, and the couple I know recommend them.

I do recommend in getting a Dewey Rod--a nylon coated rod.

Unless you've recently dropped your pistol muzzle-down on a hard surface--concrete, gravel, etc--you should be fine. It's probably just some finish worn off.

A Black Sharpie

Nothing really 'cheap' as a touch up. Just keep some oil on it to prevent any rust.
