Gunsmiths in St. Louis area for nightsight install - XDTalk Forums

Anyone know if there are any gunsmiths in the St. Louis area that can install nightsights?

Good luck. I think there is a shop in new melle that can do them. There aren't many good gun smith's in st. louis. Top Gun, which is probably the best gun shop in St. Louis doesn't even have a guy who can put night sights on.

If you cant find anybody, you can build a sight pusher out of stuff at home depot. Ill see if I can find the instructions.

I would give a call over to Ron and Jo's Firearms in O Fallon Illinois. They are closed on Sunday and Monday though. I do believe that they will install them for you. There number is 618 628-7480.

Guess I learned somthing new today ive had a few guns worked on there. Maybe they just dont do sight installs there.

I have an XD sight press... changed 5 sights.

Well I have a sight pusher made for XDs. I have used it on XD & XDm sights though.
I haven't done anyone outside of my immediate family and close friends though.

Not sure I want to take the chance of scratching someone's gun is the big thing.

I could let you do it yourself?

I do know that Belleville Shooting Range does sight installs. They did just open a store in the STL area, but not sure if they have a gunsmith there.

They send them back to Springfield. Springfield says if they don't do it the warranty will be voided.

Well I know springfield heats the slide to expand the groove when they place the sights... but voiding warranty sounds a little crazy.
