Dutchie,
You are a man after my own heart! My collection includes a Rossi 462(which I carry everyday) and a XD40. Great minds think alike.

Yeah, I like the guns I have so far, after shooting them a week or two ago for the first time. I enjoyed the time on the range a lot and will try to convince the wife to come with to see how she likes it and to make sure she knows how to handle them when I need to make my business trips... and she's home alone with the kids! I am actually going to look around when I get back (writing this from the airport in Hamburg, Germany on my way back home to Mobile) and take the advise I got here for buying a .22 caliber for me (and the wife and maybe even my kids later on, when I get comfortable enought to teach them....) to practice with. Since I want to get one that actually looks like a gun and not a toy.... I am thinking about the Walther P22 or the Mosquito (can't remember the brand..... right now). That would be my third gun....in a short period of time. So, how do you carry the Rossi? And what rounds to do have in it when carrying? Thnx again and regards, Dutchie.

My Rossi is with me so much, I've named him...Marvin. I normaly carry him in a Don Hume belt slide or in a Galco paddle, always crossdraw. For me, crossdraw gives me a more natural feeling draw. I'm part of a security ministry at my church and under those conditions I load with Glaser saftey rounds so as not to have to worry about over-penetration in a crowded sanctuary. Under normal circumstances, I load with Federal Hydra-shocks. I always carry two reloads, either HKS's in a leather dual carrier or two Bianchi speed strips in an accumold pouch, depending on how I'm dressed. The pouch fits well on my belt or will fit in a pocket like a wallet. With a suit, I carry the HKS's.

I use what they call the push pull method. First drop your mag. Check to make sure there is light someing through the barrel, that well let you know the chamber is empty. Then push out to make sure the mag is out. Do that 2-3 times. I learned that procedure while in the service, they where very strict about it and it works.
