no, the XD is a single action gun. It feels like a DAO in stock form, but in truth, it is a SAO.

and just so I'm clear...SAO meaning the hammer must be cocked by racking a round the first time then after each shot, the hammer is recocked, correct?

i thought it was a SA/DA by the way you rack it once and each shot will auto ract it for you

the stryker is always "cocked" making it a single action only, if you pull the trigger on an empty chamber,you then have to pull the slide to "cock" it again.

Every time the slide comes back after every shot, the striker is "cocked" and ready to fire. All that must happen after the slide returns to battery is for the grip safety, trigger safety, and firing pin saftey to be disengaged while you pull the trigger and bang....
