Gun Price question for you

I ordered a gun that is suppossed to be in today. I have not paid them enything just told them to order it. Well last night i was searching and found the gun out of state for $100 cheaper including shipping and ffl transfer.
Part of me wants to tell the guys to forget it. The other part tells me that i made a commitment to these guys and i need to keep it.

Shipping & FFL fees will most likely add $50 to the out of state cost. Talk to the local dealer and see what they can do. If it was a special order and you want to do business with this shop again the right thing to do follow through with your commitment. Remember the best deal is not always the cheapest.

keep in mind that you will have to pay the FFL transfer fees. And some shops charge a percentage of the price you paid for the gun if you use them to recieve it. Most shops will try to match the price, you might want to let them know you found a better deal, and they need to come down in price. Maybe not match it fully, but at least get close. Don't be a jerk about it, but deffinately don't get screwed on price cause they ordered the gun and you feel commited.
Ever had a one night stand? no baby, no problem.....

They were decent enough to order a gun for you without requesting any money upfront. You asked them to order it, they obliged. I trust you agreed on a price at the time you ordered it, and it was satisfactory enough that you told them to continue with the order.

If you hadn't seen the cheaper gun, would you still feel like you were getting a bad deal?

I would have to pay the piper and live up to the commitment I made, were I in your shoes. Chalk it up to a $100 lesson learned, and do more thorough research next time. Remember, just because someone else may get a "better deal", doesn't meen you didn't get a good deal yourself.

Oh, and once you make the purchase/order next time, STOP SHOPPING! You are only setting yourself up for aggrivation.

Your word should always mean something. Hold true to your commitment. Is your honor worth $100?

And also, buy local anyway. You might not get the best deal all the time, but it sure is nice having a local shop. One day I happened in to my local dealer and he had like twenty rifles lined up on a table. He was re-pricing them. Used guns he didn't want to carry into the next year. I was like a kid in a candy store. Found a really nice Remington 30-06 and got it for a song. Ofset any higher price I might have paid him for a handgun, though typically they have very good prices.

His post stated that shipping and fees were included. How much business do you do with these people? If not much, bleh!, buy the cheaper one. If you do, honor your order.

For $100, I'd suggest you stick to your word with the local dealer...if they have infact ordered the gun for you.

Karma is a boom-erang! If something should go/be wrong with the gun, the dealer will be much more likely to help/assist you if you got it from him/her.

Just my $0.02

Your word is suppose to be your bond. I would return to the shop where you told them to order the gun and be honest and truthful and tell them the situation and that regardless of the savings elsewhere you are committed to giving them your business. Never know, they may release you from that commitment and say, no problem, if you don't by this gun it'll sell in no time. If you can save 100 bucks go for it. OR, they will respect your honesty, take your money, and call you a friend and business acquaintance next time you walk in the door for supplies (or whatever).

I'd say be honest, you may get a good deal from them in the future, who knows.
