Gun Storage?
How do you guys store your handguns? I just got a lil 60lb safe that I tucked mine into. Do you keep your ammo together in it or separate?

I have a similar safe, and store my three pistols and all of the ammo in there... I like to keep both 2'gether

I have a double locked cabinet built into the wall of my gun room for the long guns and non used pistols. Carry guns go in a small safe in my bedroom. Ammo is in the cabinet, on the cabinet, on the loading bench, in another cabinet, in our gun bags, I think there might be some in the trunk of my wifes car too.

2 of my pistols are stored in the safe with the ammo.. My XD is with me, or close too me, and loaded at all times... No Children Yet! So that's not an issue right now...

Always have a handgun loaded on the nightstand (no kids). Always have a handgun loaded and ready when I'm home. When working down in the barn I typically have a holstered handgun. Some years back a guy that I grew up with was murdered. Two guys came into his yard. Executed him (shot him in the head) and took his car so they could get back to Baltimore. Just some random horrible thing. I'd rather not be such a victim. Of course the day I leave the gun in the safe will be the day the random thing happens.

I have no kids either so I can be fairly free with the location of them.... have 3 of them unloaded in a plastic case.... three of them loaded in a dresser drawer in my office (never know which one im gonna carry when I leave the house so all 3 of them are ready to go) and I keep my XD45ACP in my nightstand ready to rock if need be... lets hope it never comes to that point though....

I don't own an XD yet (hopefully VERY soon) but I usually keep my 357 magnum loaded and under my mattress when I'm home and in my truck the rest of the time. My 25 auto is on me almost always.

I keep in the box under my bed. I just bought it before winter and have only been shooting once because of the weather. It is my first pistol and when I get better I will be carrying and keeping really close most of the time.
