my new 40 tact. broke ?

i just brought home my first xd 40 tact. tonight and when i was looking at it real good i noticed that it button at the end of the guide was gone and there was just a small hole in the end is this normal i have been looking at the sevice before now and i know they all had that button. will this hurt any thing?

Picture would help here, as the Tactical has a solid (hollow) guide rod, not a captive rod like the Service and XDSC. The small hole should be normal, again, need some pics.

thanks , i cant take a picture tonight but after more looking it looks like it is the way it was made the end of the rod ts completely blued and every thing has machined edges .it just didnt look right. i hope it is the way it is suppose to be but i will thake pictures tommorrow just to make shure

cool thanks that is the way it is . i would like to think every one for the help. now it will not bother me to go put a couple of hundred rounds through it tommorw is if the dang snow will stop
