XD9 SC. issue with accuracy. what to do?

i went to the range with my new bundle of joy. i noticed i can keep a good group, but its low and a lil' to the left.

what do i do? I would say its me, but considering im keeping a decent grouping im leaning more towards either ammo issues or xd issues.

any advice would be greatly appreciated. I just keep reading about others experience of being very accurate and am not experiencing the same result.

thanks everyone!

Its called trigger control but you are consistently pulling your shots low and left. Try putting a snapcap somewhere in your mag and shootig another group, bet you jerk the trigger whe you hit the snapcap .

ive seen other posts of people having low and left issues like i am. I think i will do this. what do u thnk?

next time at the range, look for the guy thats shooting remarkably well, cause, there is always someone there that is a competition guy. Let him shoot my gun at my target and give me his feedback on its accuracy. i should have saved my target to post it up.

if he is making it look easy then ill get the snap caps and practice more often! if he is having the same problem then its of to SA under warranty.

i just didnt have any accuracy issues with the glock 19 or glock 17 i used to shoot at the range. im hoping im rusty and its not the gun thats the cause!!!

My XD-9 sub has enough overtravel in the trigger that I really have to work at it to keep from pulling shots low/left. Practice is good, but a trigger job might help. I don't have this problem with any other handgun, but the XD gives a little jerk just after the striker releases, and it gives me fits.

I'm no expert, but I would assume a flinch could happen with anyone.. even a very experienced shooter. Not being familiar with the gun as a whole could allow someone to flinch in anticipation of the shot because they aren't use to the trigger, etc.. Try snap caps, they are cheap and they easily point out that you flinch or not. I loaded 3 in a mag last trip to the range and after shooting a while I decided to put that mag in the gun. I didn't remember where I put them at in the mag anymore and I flinched on every single one of them. Like I said, anyone can flinch on any gun... just do yourself a favor and get snap caps or even cheaper plastic dummy rounds.. bet you flinch.
