I know all XD-45acps have the new finish on it but has anyone recently purchased a XD 9 or 40 in the service or sc version noticed a better finish on them ?

I talked to one of the Springfield CS reps about a week ago. She said that eventually she hoped they would produce all XDs with Melonite. For now though, it's only the XD-45 ACP.

I can't wait ! I guess I'll have to buy the one with the older finish.

I saw 2 9mm subs in the store the other day with the melonite finish.

I have heard that the new XD-45ACP’s will ship with a Melonite finish. Will this also be the case for the other XD models? If so, how soon can we expect them at our retailers? I have an XD-9 (Tactical) in mind, but I’d love one with Melonite!

It had the exact same finish as the 45's. They had 2 older 9mm's sitting next to them. You can tell the difference in the finish. It's also marked as a "06" special package.
