Why is the OD green cheaper?

Was searching online and see that the SPG XD9811 9MM 3IN CMP OD is $387.72 NIB from what seems to be a reputable company (?) Gilbert Gunworks.

The details states "Clear" so does that mean they are dumping them for some reason?

They are selling the SPG XD9802HCSP06 Black for $458.

I don't like the green very much, but this seems a good deal.

I must be missing something.

That seems about it. They weren't selling very well, so they've been lowering the price till they did.

I think it is because it is odd. People are used to black guns, trying to get people to buy green guns is going to to take a few years.

supply & demand. Lots of supply, little demand for the OD version.

Hmm. OK.

Umm...how much would it cost to change the color and who would do that?

The new black 9mm local is going for about $490 plus 6.5% tax in local shops. Can't get them to budge on price.

CCR can change the color of the frame, give Brad a call. I think he charges $95 for the frame and controls.

Personally, I like the green and others do too. Don't be afraid to be different.

I wouldn't mind if I knew I'd keep it.

However, I'd really prefer a sub compact .45

This will be my 1st gun and due to my girly hands...I'm limited to what guns feel OK in my hand.

During my basic gun course, I practiced with an older 9mm Glock. Then the instructor gave me his newer sub compact Glock .45 (Glock 30)and let me run a magazine through it.

I suppose due to the design the recoil goes more directly through the wrist and back. So, the .45 felt actually a bit better to me than the 9mm which seemed to want to flip up.

Thing is the damn new glock grips are a bit thick for me to really feel comfortable with.

If the new XD .45 came in sub compact I'd get it in 2 seconds.

Nobody in the 2 shops I went to were fans of 40's and most people liked 45's. With the 9's ya get more rounds.

So, anyways- the XD would be my 1st gun and I know I'll sell it in the not too distant future.

Not thrilled about getting a color that will be hard to sell.

I like the green. It seems to grow on you and is unique. Then again, I was Army, so maybe all I see is green now.
