I was perusing this earlier thread and thought I might add to it. Since I haven't had any luck in doing the link thing, I will just say go to laserlytesights.com and check out their QD laser. It's like an M6 in that it fits on the rails of the XD, even the subs. Less expensive also.

Am I crazy for thinking that?
The Lasermax has more potential for failure because of the mechanical forces on the guide rod, IMO.

LaserMax.com

I see that LaserMax finally has the XD listed on their website. They only list it for the 4" and 5" models but is using a 3" subcompact in their advertisement. Has anyone heard anything about LaserMax making one for us left out SC owners? --Kevin

The Service/Tactical model should be available on or around March 1st. The SC variant should be available shortly after that.

Around March 1st?

LaserMax has them on their website to buy right now. I'm not going to spend $399 on it, but I added it to my shopping cart and went to check-out before I cancelled.

I believe they are taking order direct at this time, however they don't yet have stock, from what I was told.

Considering their dealer pricing for the XD version, I suspect the street price with be around $365.

Not so! Ajames posted something not long ago--the XML-2 (or something)--has an integrated laser. Here's the thread:

http://www.hs2000talk.com/viewtopic....highlight=xml2

I'd spend the dough on that before the guiderod laser. Nice idea, but just costs too much to be practical when the M6 and XML-2 give you light and laser...unless you want laser only...? The laser won't help you much if you don't have proper trigger control...

Let's solicit them (or one of their resellers) for a GP (Group Purchase) at $250-$299 and see what happens? I'm game.
