Armadillo
Armadillo has arrived down under and they had a little write up about it in the local mag. They put armadillo on a rifle barrel and then ran it under water. Weeks later still no rust.
I have no rust on my HS2000 but would this product also add to the protection of my finish even though I keep it clean and rust free now? Your thoughts Cheers mulder

Yes. I have been using it since I bought my first XD and have not using a drop of oil on my finish. Armadillo is a wax-like product that adheres to the metal. It is an excellent product.

Do you use this to cover the entire slide top and bottom? I'm assuming you still oil contact points even if they have armadillo on them first right? I've been thinking of trying this stuff but want to make sure I'm using it correctly for the XD before I get it.

As for the contact points, I use only GunButter. It is the best lube I have used by far. It lasts for a long time and does not evaporate. I can easily go 1000 rounds between cleanings and it is still there in full force. OS

I bought the BW Kit and couldn't be happier. $25 well spent! I live in humid FL and no rust yet.

if I use gunbutter, do I have to put the gun in a toaster first and apply with a butter knife?
