XD9 sticky magazine release.....

This topic has been covered some before, however, I can't get mine resolved. Even with NO magazine in...the mag release button sticks. In fact, when you push it in...sometimes it will stay pushed in for several seconds before it comes back out. When a fully loaded 15-rounder is inserted.....sometimes you have push the mag release with terrific force to get the magazine out. BTW -- the pistol was purchased new in Dec. of 2005 and both mags are factory of course. This is a new issue with the pistol, as I don't recall running into this last month.

I have degreased it 3-times with RemAction high pressure cleaner, used compressed air, and lubed it lightly with FP-10. It still sticks as bad as ever. Unless you can think of something, I will need to send it back.

Oh, I could not find one single piece of information in the manual or on their web site regarding instructions to get warranty service. Where is that information, or do you have to call the 800 number to start the process?

Thanks,

Yes, I saw that one too. However, if there really is something behind the spring, I don't see it, nor can I figure out how to get it out. Besides, all of the degreasers and forced air should have removed any and all of that.

It's like it's rubbing on something. Whatever it is -- it's way off.

Back in May I had the same problem. Removed the mag catch, gave it a good cleaning and then ran into problems. Luckily enough R Dub sprang into action and hooked me up.

Some additional pictures/information. Doesn't directly relate to removing the magazine catch, but every little bit helps:
