Kool-Aid anyone?
Lets walk into the woods, you have a .40, I'll take a 10mm. We can find a bear and really piss him off, then see how good the .40 does against it. It isn't popular because people cry like babies over the recoil.
I see people whine about the .40sc everyday here. My 5'3" 105# wife has no issue with it, so I'm guessing that many gun owners are just "girly". If they whine about a .40 how could they even think about a 10mm?

Pour me a glass please.

Most factory loads today for 10mm are watered down to almost 40 cal levels. If you get a full load like a buffalo bore, Or double tap which are safe they are what the 10mm was originally intended to be and were when it started. Those loads will blow a 40 cal out of the water.

The 10mm shoots the same diameter bullets as the .40 and I've seen plenty of 200 gr. .401 and .400 around... All you'd need is 10mm brass and large pistol primers.... If you reload you can use the same dies as for a .40....

I really just don't believe that .45 target (FMJ) ammo is $30 a box. I'd believe the 10mm would be that price, but not generic FMJ .45

I can easily get 2 boxes of quality brass .45 ammo for that.

Do you live in New York where cigarettes are $9 a back! Remember when a carton was that price, ha!

Last month there were several places where I live that had .45acp for more than $30 per box of 50.

I have a pet 180 gr speer gold dot load for the 10mm that delivers 1350 FPS from the 4.6" G20. That my freind is 728 FTLBS of muzzle energy! The best 40 short and weak can muster is 1050 fps without going above Saami pressure spec. That is 440 FTLBS of muzzle energy. Are you beginning to see the HOOPLA now? I run my G20 with the +2 mag extensions for a total of 17 + 1 in the weapon and 17 rnds per spare mag. Just how can a 15 rnd 40S&W even be compaired to a true 10mm? It can't! The 40S&W and the 10mm are just like the 38 special/357 mag. Except that the true 10mm loadings are more powerful than a 357mag!
