The point I'm making is that we have about 25% of the whole story, so it's pretty hard to say who we can side on based on the facts given.
Dangerously defective design, so the parents would win.

Incidentally, this is the danger of the "liability shields" people want to enact for gun companies: you give up your rights to sue for a dangerously defective design. Such as, a Glock that kabooms every third trigger pull. Too dangerous for practical use, but since there's no downside for the company, no incentive not to try to sell them.

In cases like this, the jury only gets to hear certain information. Many times after rendering a verdict and then reading about the case's facts later, the jurists are PISSED because facts were withheld from them that would have made them go the other way.

It's shameful. Trust no one.

You're not considering a career as a lawyer are you?
There are ones that have a radio link to the dog's collar, so that strange dogs (and/or raccoons) can't get in. Good idea, in my opinion.

Let's say that the sun is blue and July 3rd is National Snozberry Day. So what? In theoreticals like this, the point is usually to answer the question to the best of your ability with the available information. You can what-if this thing to death, and it's missing the point.

In the absence of contravening evidence, I would find that door manufacturer is not responsible.

Its BS that people have to be warned about the obvious. Or for example a B and E suspect trips and falls and sues the homeowner. Personally though I would be with the Door people.

Are you thick? Or do you just enjoy not thinking before you post?

A LOT of pet doors have manual locks on them. You engage the lock when you don't want anything getting through the door. You release the lock when you want the door to be able to be opened by your pet.

AND...if you'd have read my posts (it is quite obvious you didn't...or just can't comprehend English) you'd see where I wrote that the lock could have been defective. Poor materials, bad design....something that is easily broken.

Yup.. +1 for the door company! It really sucks when parents are too selfish to watch a toddler. If it wasn't the doggie door, they would be suing the electrical outlet manufacturer and safety pin manufacturer!!!
