FRONT SIGHT REMOVAL TOOL

There is someone making sight adjustment/removal/installer tools for about fifty bucks... he has one that will work for the Sig ,226, 229, 239 but doesn't know if it will work on the XD 40... what are the exact dimensions of the slide (he thinks they are: width of the slide at the bottom is 1.134 in. and .952 in. at the top and .948 in. high... but is not sure).

If this is wrong what measurements is he needing from me to make this tool?

The description of the sig tool is: "these are the only models I was able to use to make this tool. the opening for the slide is 1.025In. this should help you in deciding if this tool will fit your Sig. The tool is made out of alum. the adjusting screw has a swivel head, so not to mar the sight. It also has 6 clamping screws with nylon tips to secure the tool to your gun. Also comes with hex wrench and velvet pouch. This tool will also remove your sight. the opening in the tool is 5/8"BY 3/4" oval. If you need more information please contact me."

I can get them off with liberal pounding with a steel punch... took awhile but I got both front and rear sight off. I want to use the tool to put sights back on it once I finish dura coating it rather than having to whack em on with a brass punch.

I'm gonna dura coat it in colt grey and then dura coat the components with matte black. Then I'm going to either silver or gold inlay the engravings and then dura coat in clear the whole thing. Then I'm going to pop on some of those TFO's. This I'm doing to my compact 40. Going to dura coat my service size too but not as fancy as it pretty much stays in a duty type holster and I carry my compact more than anything these days since I work in the private sector now.

Don't plan to get to work on it till a couple weeks from now (I have to order all the stuff) but when I do I'll post some pics.
