Help me decide XD-40 Service or SC??
Ok, I'm a bit torn. I'm looking at purchasing my first XD in the coming weeks and I'm trying to decide between the XD-40 Service or SC. I would use it for some CC but not too much as I work form home and hardly ever leave. Looking for some opinions on those who carry the service models and SC's.

I carry a XD40 Service every day and it's very comfortable and concealable.

I carry the XD40sc. I really like the size for carry. I use a Hume IWB holster. The sc shoots well for it's size, probably better than I do. I've put about 1500 rounds through it without one failure. If you can shoot each, see which feels best for you, carry with either should not be a problem. Good Luck

I haven't shot the SC in an XD, but own the 4'' XD-9. That size is just right for me, neither too large or small for range shooting and for carry

I went through the same thing. Only difference is that I’m carrying every day. I went with the Sub and have been “packing” it for 6 months. I love it. Mine came with the standard 9 round mag and extra extended (12rd) mag. w/ grip sleeve. At home, when I’m not carrying I have the 12rd mag in. I also added the Pierce Grip to the smaller mag in order to get my pinky on the grip. This made a huge difference in accuracy while only taking away a small amount of concealability.
It all comes down to personal preference. They’re both great guns!

I have owned 2 xd40 subs and 1 xd40 service. I like shooting the service better than a sub, but prefer the smaller sub for carry. I also have the same holster as above but in black.

Wow, great responses. I think I've decided on the service... because like what a couple of you all said... I'll just end up w/ both anyway!!
