best holster for fatass sub carry
Hey, fellas, i took my ccw this past weekend and my order of new mag, pearce ext's, hume iwb holster, and tfo's is at the post office (thanks, old school). I'm not a small man (6'2" 350 lbs) and i was wondering what you other portly fellas carry with. I really am considering an ankle holster because i don't see how i can carry iwb with my side fat hanging over my belt without being spotted. Any ideas? I'm sure i will love the 40 sub, i also have a service 40, i tried that today and it was'nt even funny. I'm really hoping the sub will feel better, but i don't know. I stopped at a gun store today and was salivating over the Kahr's, but i don't have time to auction a kidney on ebay to pay for it. Any suggestions? I'd like to hear from everyone, but especially the husky guys.
Thanks |

I'm 6'2"/350# and tote an XD9SC strong-side in a Hoffner MinimalES: http://www.hoffners.com/min2.jpg http://www.hoffners.com/holster.htm Cecil is the Hoffner Production Manager and will do anything to meet your needs. I had him set up the holster with a strong forward cant so the gun muzzle is over my right pants pocket, with the grip well forward. Go by your local cop shop and buy a 1-1/2" wide duty belt. A TekLok belt clip on the holster ($10 extra) virtually welds your gun to your belt, and yet is easy to remove when you need to take it off. A 5.11 vest or square-tailed shirt make it disappear. Mention Don Lewis "the knife sharpener" and he will remember how my holster is set up. Hope that helps. /Sperrier
