My mag rattles

I have two 10rd mags that came with my XD9-sc. One of the mags rattles when it is loaded to capacity, pretty loud actually. When it is empty or has up to 9 rounds, no noise at all. I took it apart to see if there was anything in it, but it looks fine. I emailed Springfield about it, still waiting to hear back. BTW, the other mag is fine. Any ideas on this?

Very common. Their are many posts on the forum about it. Just relax and enjoy. Nothing to worry about.

my 15rnd 9mm mags rattle when they have 12 and 14 rnds in them. I think I'll just shoot quicker past those rounds so I don't notice as much!

A rattling magazine would make me angry, If you have the knowledge to safetly repair/work on the magazine do so, perhaps it is the spring or mag follower or a combination of both being improperly placed or installed that cause the rattling. I'm going to repair my buddies 15 round mag again tonight if he's around and mine had the same problem with rattling and the magazine follower won't slide all the way down the mags shaft.

Oni,

I'll give that a try, how do you fix it if it won't go all the way down.

Reassemble the magazine correctly using the manual. I had trouble with one of my original 10 round magazines that came with the gun when I purchased it and that is what I did to fix the intolerable error. After I purchase my next xd I'll probably give the mags and gun to my father like I originally promised him because he used to be quite the shooter back in the day and I plan on reincarnating his firearm spirit. ^.^ Oh that sounded cheesy but true nonetheless.

Nothing cheesy about it, my Dad was on the army pistol team but tired eyes are making it more difficult for him to shoot. I got him a Bushnell Holo-Site a couple of weeks ago to help him.
