Ebay magazines.....

Bought a 15 round magazine off Ebay when I first bought my XD 9. Got it in and have used it.

I did notice on the range that twice when this magazine was empty that the XD did not lock the slide back like it should. The other 5 or so times I cycled it through it worked as it should. Is this a magazine problem?

Now granted this is a new XD and as of now has 200 rounds through it but this kinda concerned me. The factory magazines worked correctly everytime.

I did all the safety things I should (keep ot pointed downrange for 30 seconds and then check the breech for a bad round) but found that the magazine was empty and no bad round.

Just curious if this is something that could have been caused by the XD not being broken in or a magazine problem.

Other than this the XD has functioned flawlessly and I absolutey made the right choice for me.

Failure to feed = mag problem (90% of the time)
Promag = crap

If it is a Springfield magazine, the spring may need replacement, or the magazine could just need cleaning.

Good Luck, MC

I think it may be a pro-mag but I am not sure as it came in an unmarked package. It is blued instead of stainless.

The other thing I don't like about it is the fact that it doesn't have the round indicator on the back of the mag...

But it works and I got it for $10 shipped so I guess I will just deal with it.

Just don't trust it to save your life. Sounds like a decent range mag.

The XD with a 15 round would make a good peacock at least, if it is having slide malfunctions, giving enough time for a bg to think wtf,... he's got a gun. ^.^

Its not that it doesn't feed right...feeds right through all of the rounds...just occasionally it does not lock the slide back like it should.

not trying to second guess you as a shooter, but is there any chance your thumb is resting on the slide stop lever? I noticed myself doing that, had to change my grip a little. No problems since, but I am also using SA mags.
