Meh, looks like a bb airsoft gun, something I wouldn't take very seriously, although if you want your XD tactical to look like a toy, you have definitely succeeded ;d Black and white always make a good mix and the slide lock lever along with the slide dissasembly lever's external surface look like the top of some hostess fruitcake snack. That is my personal opinion, take offense if you must, although I wonder if there are replacement parts for those slide function levers that look, um cooler and a tad bit more rather serious.

I never saw one done before. You just use a crayon. Is it difficult?

Wow, I wonder how you could make the crayon coloring somewhat permanent.

sorry, i just think it's an ugly color. yes, there's a site for gun paint to make a permanent. there is another post if u use the search feature to tell you step by step how to do it. i didn't like it though. i did white. it looked nice, but made it look too much like a toy and it started to wear off after a little while. i just took it off.

Not to be an ole' stick-in-the-mud, but even if it is cocked, the grip safety would have to be either defective or disengaged (ie gripped) for their to be any real safety issue here....and remember, when you clear your weapon you are cocking the firing mechanism as you remove the chambered round. I rarely dry fire after dropping my mag and ejecting the live round, thus my gun will always show "cocked" despite it being unloaded. I could be wrong, but I know that I unloaded it, and can check again if I need to, and if I choose to hand my gun to another person the slide is locked back with or without a mag in place....

I have been using crayon on my XDs for over two years. That said, the orange does look good. I am a simple man; white does it for me.
