XD357 Tacticals?
Has anyone actually seen a 357 Tactical? I see them listed on Springfields web site but have never seen one in person. Just curious.

Yep, I have.
Pretty sweet, I understand they're not all that common. If I were rich, I'd have bought it, but alas... Looks like any other XD, though. -stunks |

Hi Guys,
This is my first post here. Been meaning to sign up for a while now and finally got around to it. Thanks for all the helpful info here. I own both a 9mm tactical and a 357 tactical and both have been flawless. I contacted CorBon about the velocity of their 124 gr. cartridge from a 5 inch barrel and they wrote back that I could expect over 1500 fps. That is smoking in anybody's book. Here in Tx it is the standard cartridge of the DPS. I have shot the 357 at IDPA and find it quite managable, although, I will mostly shoot the 9mm for cost reasons. Thanks again for all the valuable information here.

I have the 4" and 5" both, and they are very similar shooting. The jury is still out on which I like better. But I love the caliber, no matter what gun. Very low recoil and packs a nice punch

I see the is a XD 45 in ACP but I cannot seem to find one on Gunbroker, are they hard to get?
The next pistol I want is either the XD .357 tactical or the .45 tactical, will either of these calubers be accurate out to 100 yards? Thanks Ed

Can someone explain to me where the .357 SIG round rates in power between .40, 9mm and .45. I don't know much about this round.

Nightraider,
The 357 sig is a 40sw case necked down to 9mm. The cartridge manufaturers give it the edge in energy and velocity but the 357 sig is limited to bullet weights of 147 gr. and below. Many law enforcement agencies feel it is the best choice for its ability to penetrate vehicle bodys. If bullet weight above 147 gr. is a consideration the .40 or .45 would probably be a better choice.
