I like crotch rockets! I love the position the bike puts the drivers girl friend in when they ride along on the back or when a driver is a woman. Man what a great view. Its even better if I can get a glimps of thong!!
HA!

Sorry, I got so excited I didn't even answer the question.

Sportbikes get their fair share of attention but last year at Bike Week the SO and FHP was in the median near Ormand stopping bikers with ape hangers and writting tickets. I know ape hangers are against the law here in FLA but I'm not sure why....they look very cool.

Some of the sportbikes I have seen running around here are riding on one wheel, poping up, or speeding. I think they are just like every other way of living/career/life style. There are jackasses in every group and they often give the majority of the group a bad rap.

Yes I did. plus another $200 for the jacket, $50 for the gloves, $200 for the helmet, and $150 for the boots. It's easy to have $1000 or more in riding gear if you want to protect yourself. They paid off for me early this year in an accident that I had. I still have all of my skin, though my right knee got blown out.
Ah, guess I should've thought of that. My first thought was you crying about a $200 pair of jeans, but I understand now.

yes.

( :

i say this as a m/c rider, as well. there are plenty of idiots out there who don't have insurance, have never taken an msf course or the equivalent, and think they're hot **** because they can do 140 on the highway, and coincidentally ride 10 mph slower than posted in the turns, at 9/10ths.

and that's all i have to say about that.

Driver-"It's not fair, I get singled out just because I drive/ride a *insert what you drive*!"

Officer-"You were going 20mph over the speed limit."

Driver-"So was everybody else!"

Officer-"There are many fish in the sea, but you can't catch all of them."

Point of the story? Stop speeding and you won't get singled out. Also remember, the officer doesn't necessarily want to pull you over and write you a ticket, but it is their job.

I'm not saying I don't speed (unless your my insurance agent), I just pick my spots.

Picking your spots is often the challenge. If you ride motorcycles in city traffic, you understand that you either #1) flow with the traffic, which is generally flowing at 10-20mph over the speed limit, or #2) get off of the road. The problem with #1 is that you can be the one that gets singled out because you're on the bike, not the 10 cars/trucks/minivans driving with you. I don't agree with riding faster than traffic is flowing, but I think (at least in colorado springs) traffic flows faster than the speed limit, and you're not going to be doing any break checking on a guy that's tailgating you for going slower than the traffic flow when you're on a bike.

Sometimes late at night I see a little headlight a few miles behind me then it comes faster and faster like a comet then zoooom! it passes me up at probably 150 mph+

I've been riding dirtbikes since the early 80s, and have nothing against motorcycles, but those idiots that speed on public highways...........

Have you ever tried to ride one of those Orange County Chopper monstrosities that people like to pee in their pants about at bike shows?

It's like riding a refrigerator, except the fridge has a better suspension.

See darkfire's excellent post directly below yours for an explanation as to why your argument doesn't work in this situation.
