polishing barrel/breech and palm safety
the bluing/coating is wearing off the breech/barrel and palm rest of my 9mm xd-4.
Has anyone successfully(sp) polished these? I don't like the half-blued half-worn off way it looks. I have had 0 rust problems on my xd. regularly spray some rem oil and wipe her down though. |

I think the worn out look gives it character, but to each their own.
there are many many polishing posts on here, do a quick search to find out all the info you need.

I have had the breech and controls polished for about 3 months with no rust or problems. I did not polish them completly shiny I left some blueing on to give it a gun-metal look or maybe a black chrome look depends how the light hit's it.. I say go for it if you like it I used a chrome polish I use on my Motorcycle with a soft rag and just rubbed and polished till I I had a good even look and then applied a light clear oxidizer that is made by the same company. I will get you the name when I get home... I had picks up but they kinda suck.

Check out my 45 GAP in the trading post. I have pics of it up. Easy to do. The finish comes right off. I just used a dremel with felt tip and the polishing compund.
