Can someone please clarify? 45GAP
Alright, well ive been doing some research and have across a few different numbers which are really starting to confuse me.
Here: http://www.military.com/soldiertech/...ch_XD,,00.html The specs at the bottom state: Barrel Length= 6"; Overall Length= 8.25"; Weight= 32oz; and a 10 Round Magazine. http://www.springfield-armory.com/pr...5gapcomp.shtml Specs for tactical state: Barrel Length= 5.01"; Length= 7"; Weight = 31oz http://www.springfield-armory.com/pr...tl-45gap.shtml Then here at the main page for the tactical it says overall length is 8" Are there different variations between the tactical models? Why all different numbers ? For those of you that own the GAP, does it say "XD-45LE" or "XD-45LE TACTICAL" on the left side (side with slide lock)? Or something else ? |

I could be wrong, but I'm guessing the 7" is a total slide length, whereas the 8" measurement is length from muzzle to the bottom of the grip.
The difference in barrel length...?? Maybe one includes the camber & the other doesn't? Just buy one. You'll be happy.

The 4 inch Service Says 45LE, the 5 inch says 45LE and then Tactical on the slide. The service has a 4 inch barrel and the Tactical has a 5 inch barrel.

Good eye, aerowinged...
The numbers on the Soldier of Fortune article don't really bother me as they got a number of things wrong, and it might have been a typo. The other two, though, are both from the Springfield, so should be exactly the same. I will have to check....

I own the 5 in Tactical. Here's what it says:
Left Side XD-45LE Farther back is says TACTICAL Overall length is 7-7/8 In I'm a much better shot with this pistol than any other I have ever own or shot. I went from middle of the pack at the IDPA matches to top 4 or 5 and as high as 2nd. I credit the pistol, but that's how it works for me. I also have a permit to carry and use this pistol. |

And in assuming no one has heard of or seen a 10 Rd magazine yet, like they say on the soldiertech website. I really dont know what the heck there were doing with that article, besides screwing me up.lol. Unless.. could Springfield have sent them a special or modified XD ?
