It is illegal to record this info and I am sure that the NRA would love to get involved in this one. It has happened in the past and I am sure this is not the last.

I've decided to go up there tonight when one of those two workers will be on duty to buy ammo. According to the store manager whom I spoke with earlier this morning, the logging activity will be halted. We'll see.
Let me give you some advice, if you know she is a witch you know to much. I treat walmart like a combat zone, I hit the ground infil to sporting goods, get ammo and unass as quickly as possible.

Always look for the 1 token walmart hottie though. There is always 1 and only 1 good looking female per visit to walmart.

Alex was there this weekend, and the purchase was not logged.

The only people who have the RIGHT to see and copy info from your license or state ID are government officials. There are a couple of other simple things that you can do to stall out people who want your information. The easiest way is to not give them posession of the ID. Keep it in your wallet in that clear plastic thing that your wife thinks should contain her photo. The other thing is to use a PO box. For those of us who live within a few miles of a post office, this is really helpful. In my county, most ID theft seems to come from mail theft. It's a hell of a lot harder to break into a PO box than it is to break into a mail box. If a PO box won't work for you, just make sure you are consistent in removing the mail from your mailbox.

Sorry for going off-topic, I guess I'm just tired of taking these reports all day long. Thanks for the patience,

MC

When they ask you"is this ammo for a handgun", just say no.
Thats all I do when I buy ammo at wally world. No fuss, no muss. They don't know the difference. The only time they ask for my ID is if it's for a handgun.
Amazingly none of the ammo I buy is for handguns.

Some interesting developments............

The store manager has pulled the logbook from the floor and locked it up in his office. The sporting goods dept manager apparently was confronted on or about the 17th of this month by an Anne Arundel County detective requesting she institute a running log of all who buy ammo in an effort to help with his investigation!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Law-making on-the-fly at its best. The store manager has a call into the detective's voicemail and has told me that he will keep the logbook off the floor unless otherwise directed by walmart corporate legal dept at HQ in Arkansas. He told me he was told by HQ's legal that they are under no sopeana and have not been issued any warrants or court orders.

It really sounds like this detective was abusing his law enforcement authority by intimidating an employee (the assistant store manager) into setting up a logbook for him. The big-cheese himself, the store manager, was on annual vacation at the time.

I'm quickly losing faith in law enforcement. I hear them on the scanner all the time being buttheads behind the scenes.......I guess they think their comms are encrypted.....or maybe they think that because they're on a trunk, they're secure?? HA!!

Anyway, I'll continue to keep you's informed as things move along. I'm even thinking about filing a complaint with the police commissioner and maybe even finding a pro-gun lawyer to "chat" with about this.

Whadaya's think?

Sounds like subhuman cretin cops being subhuman cretin cops. Our local "finest" have the dispatcher call the pizza places outside of regular hours, have them open the door and then come in in uniform with their hand on their gun to complain about service/pizza.

In the latest sheriff election, one candidate charged the other with selling drugs, which he admitted he knew about for years, but didn't charge him until just before the election. Both were sheriff's deputies.

In the prison where I worked, the most common profession of the inmates was truckdriver, preacher, cop, in that order.

Yup, lots of scumbags in police departments, all over the world. Reno 911 is so funny because it's true.

Yikes, just another reason to avoid Wally World.

Of all the rounds I've bought in LA County, I've never been thumbprinted. I've had my CA DL held while I'm on a lane at a range, but they copy that info down for insurance purposes. Buying ammo at a range or a gun store, though, they just did the card swipe, I signed the receipt and I was on my way.

One interesting thing I've heard. Firing Line will no longer rent guns unless there are at least two in the party. They claimed "Too many suicides." I'd have never thought of suicide by rental range gun. They're so dirty, it'd probably jam anyway.
