I love my CTAC. All the other holsters i have collected for my XD just sit in the closet. It's comfortable, adjustable, and fits the gun well. Since i always wear a t-shirt, the lack of leather backing is not an issue. I recommend it whenever i get the chance.

I have a C-TAC with the J clips and love it. Very comfortable (enough so I have fallen asleep with it on) and stays were I put it. Havn't had anyone ask about the clips yet, of course I don't wear my shirt tucked in too often. See below as to why that is.

I wish they would make a duel IWB mag pouch to match. It would be cool to have the same clip options for it too, just thiner. Just an idea to make the mags less obvious. After all we are trying to be covert about carrying but having two mags hanging out on the opposite side isn't very covert at times. Hell the couple of times someone noticed I was carrying was because my spare mags got exposed.

I ordered a C-TAC holster today

I ordered a Comp-Tac holster today. C-TAC left hand model. I also ordered a 1 1/2 inch belt to go with the holster. Both ordered from www.gunnersalley.com. Ed and Brad make Gunners Alley a great place to do business.

The comments really helped me to decide what to buy. I was thinking about buying a sub-compact to carry, but now feel I can carry the service model in any season of the year. I think the 4 inch barrel gives me the best control in a carry gun. Thanks again, this is the best forum on the web.

Please post back when you receive them with some impressions. I was checking out their 1.25" and 1.5" inch belts last night and thinking about purchasing one. I would love to know if it is as stiff as they describe.

Thanks.

Just for reference, pictured below is a Wilderness Frequent Flyer belt (1.5") with just the 5-stitch option. It's pretty stiff as-is. I like it. They also have an optional insert that makes it super duper stiff.

I was like that when I was younger, but...you know how it is. . (You just knew someone would make such a comment...I decided to be the first for a change).

Seriously, I carry an IWB suede holster with a clip that fits over the belt. I have read about the CTAC here before and have thought about it. Can someone explain the difference among the various clips: c, j, and v and the advantage of each. Thanks.

I know I can go to their site, but I'd like some real world comments.

I should have the holster on Thursday. Gunners Alley said up front that the belt will take three weeks. I will post a review of the holster and belt after I have a few day to wear and carry the holster. I see that Springfield now has a .45 ACP. And I thought I had only one other gun to buy?

Woah...thats crazy-stiff.
I went to the Roanoke, Va gun show this weekend and picked up a nice new belt that the guy customized to your size and whatever options you wanted while you wandered around. Its pretty a basic belt, but WAY stiffer than my current casual belt..I think I will give it a whirl with an IWB holster and see how well it works. If it doesnt work out I will only be out $31 and will have purchased a belt I really like. (There is no way I could drape it across a chair and have it remain that stiff, but its pretty stiff)
