Q: Can I buy an XD and put in aftermarket barrels?
A: Yes. Pistolgear.com and AJAMES have some, as well as others here on the forum.
Add in that caliber conversions are possible but only when using a 40/357 slide. Note that the XD9 slide won't take a 40 barrel. Though outlined in question #17, many use the terms "aftermarket barrels" and "caliber conversions" interchangeably.

Question 52 is somewhat off on its explaination. Not always is it more propellent. The +P stands for pressure, not propellant. Some makers just add a tad bit more crimp or shorten OAL of the round so that then pressure builds higher giving the same effect without using extra powder.

I don't necessarily have a question to add (maybe later) but you should probably spell check it.

Manual, not Manuel...unless my gun came with some dude to answer my questions

Explanation, not Explaination (edit: woops, not part of original thread)

misspelled words may = less credibility IMO.

anyways, i'm sure people hate that when people correct them...but I'm only looking out for you....like earlier this week...i wrote Colorado State Patrol an e-mail cuz they spelled reciprocity - reciproicty.

BTW...good idea

I fail to see the question that addresses the following issue:

Q: Where the hell can I send these yokels to learn english to use in the forums?

A: Forget it, you are screwed. We tried to get someone from Webster in here but after 100,000 posts with a slew of questionable word spellings and 10% of the posts raising concerns about precisely what combination of words constitutes a proper sentence, well... lets just say I have never seen an accountant-type cry like that...

webster is not needed...no consulting fee's etc, it really not that hard bro, this forum has a spell checker. I'm not saying that all posts have to have perfect sentences and or spelling...only for a FAQ that perspective and or new XD owners can rely on as credible. oh my god...does anyone have some tissues so i can wipe the tears from my eyes

Q: My gun fails to feed with PMC ammunition. Why?

A: PMC ammunition uses a brass case in thier cartridges which is not properly crimped. On occasion, the lip of the end of the brass case will catch on the feed ramp and not properly move into the chamber, allowing the XD to return to battery.

The Springfield XD is not the only handgun affected by this problem as it is based principally on the ammunition's construction.
