Ok, first and foremost i would like to than all of you for your posts, I have learned more about my gun than I ever hoped I would. So here's my thing: I am picking up my first XD next thursday (5" .40 tactical) which i got for $479 (includes 3 10rd mags an an XDgear belt holster) and I want to get an EFK 9mm conversion barrel for range use. But there are some things I need clarification on:

1. With the conversion barrel, do I need to get 9mm mags? or can I use my .40 mags with 9mm in them.

2. how many 9mm rds will a 10rd .40 mag hold? (this is kalifornia and for some reason 10+rds is the DEVIL! just like foosball)

3. Should I get the duracoat right off the bat?

4. What are next weeks mega lotto numbers?

1. You can use 40 mags in most cases. I suggest getting a 9mm mag or two to eliminate the chance for trouble.
2. 12ish, however, I think it you load more than 10 you are breaking the law.
3. No, unless you are worried about rust. A little TLC will keep your XD looking new.
4. If you find out, share with the rest of the forum.

1. +1, ditto that, all the way.
2. I think I got 15 9mm into a modified .40 ten-rounder
3. True, but if you do it right away you can do the clear coat for extra protection.
4. 15, 9, 40, 10. If you win I get half.
