looking for advice

I'm not a "new" member...but I haven't really posted much in a while. I've been drifting around reading the great convos started by others. This is a simple question:

I have an XD40 for personal protection...what changes (if any) should (or would you) I make to the weapon? I'm already certain on the guide rod change...any others?

thanks in advance.

I'm a proponent of the "if it ain't broke; don't fix it" crowd. The one thing I would consider if it were my gun, is a good set of night sights. Otherwise!…I would spend my money on ammo and practice.

It's a short list and Frenchy pretty much nailed it.

I was going to suggest a light for your accessory rail, but I see by your signature line you already have one. Change out the guide rod and your on your way

How about a trigger job??

I would think the three would be:
Rubber Grip - Tell Junior his bike is outta commission this winter because you are cutting up his bike tube
Night sites - yet still usable during the day
Rod and Spring
Reduce the trigger pull

I would think that would be the perfect carry weapon, as resources allow, I am thinking of the last three on my XD9 Sub.

+1

i broke my guide rod, so i replaced it with a Dons. since there are 55 other recorded cases of this happening with the .40 it wouldnt hurt to get one.

+1 on the night sights. I changed out my guide rod, but honestly it had nothing to do with thpersonal protection side of it. I think that between getting night sights and the tac light you already have is plenty for home defense or personal protection.

Gordo23, I was wondering if you could post a pic of the M6 mounted on your service.

TIA,
