Good stuff. The ATF helps the oil creep and there is no need to stress about the solvent in ATF. I just wish it weren't a red color.

I am loving Ed's red (minus the acetone) to drop my XD barrel in for cleaning. Make clean up a snap.

Oh, and almost all products (CLP wise) have a touch of solvent. That's why it's called CLEAN LUBRICATE PROTECT. So no worries about ATF at all. It does stain though.

I always try to use gloves when cleaning any of guns. Just for safety... overkill? maybe, but better safe than sorry.

I run Mobil 1 in most of my cars/trucks/suvs.

I change my own oil/oil filters - so I always have these (almost) empty oil bottles/jugs sitting around after the oil change. I tip them up at an angle and let them sit a couple of days and then pour the left over oil into those little GI oil bottles that come in the M16 cleaning kits. I buy the bottles at gun shows for $1 each and keep a few full ones. As I empty one it goes to the garage and a full one goes to the top of the refrigerator, the cleaning box, the tool box, the shooting/range bag, etc.

I can get enough left over oil from one of those 5 qt. jugs to fill up a plastic oiler bottle.

I use it on the handguns and the AR15s and the shot guns. No issues so far.

The only oil I use is Mobil 1 5w 20 ....

$6 for a lifetime of oil that runs great in all my guns ... Besides some slide glide for my glock , Mobil1 is all I need for lube (I use hoppes #7 on my pistol bores) ..

Anyone ever used it to clean the bore ? I use it for everything but that , but am curious .

+1 for Mobil 1 5w30 here. Got the better part of a gallon of Ed's Red for cleaning too, good stuff!
