thats funny because i have been seriously debating this lately. I thinki im going to give it a chance. In my state(KY), open carry is allowed. I think this could make a difference in some people, since OWB probably has a better chance of printing and/or exposing weapon. I have seen a few people carrying this way and could not make it out even when looking. My new philosophy is likely leaning toward making an effort to carry concealed, but not caring so much about if its perfect or not. Hell, even people open carrying are probably not noticed by 1/3 of public or better. I think a much bigger weapon could be carried owb, but dont have a whole lot of experience.

Could the people that prefer owb concealed please tell what holster they use?

i open carry when pretty much every time i carry, unless the weather calls for a a jacket. i have only been stopped about my gun once and i don't think it counts since it was a crazy old asian lady. I catch some people staring, but that's about it. i was nervous the first few times i opened carried, but it goes away and you quickly get used to it and stop thinking that every body is going to freak out about you having a gun.

I carry my M&P40 full size in the blade tech holster that came with it. its a really nice holster.

I do as well. Fortunately, I live in an open carry state.

Some people are very uncomfortable with carrying openly. I understand that.

Everyone needs to stay in their comfort zone, in the open vs concealed debate.

But some people seem to be more concerned with OTHER peoples comfort level than their own. O.K., I kinda' understand that also, even if I don't agree with it 100%.

If a guy walks into a business with a weapon on his side, there should be no reason for alarm.

If he was up to no good, he'd either be brandishing the weapon, or it would be concealed. He certainly wouldn't be carrying it openly on his side, would he?

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm more concerned about the weapons that I don't see, than those that I do see on a citizens' side.

Thanks,

Duane

In Texas we can only conceal carry. I carry OWB most of the time. I own a crossbreed and carry IWB some and agree that it is as comfortable as IWB can be. Having said that, OWB is soooo much more comfortable. I carry in a leather pancake made by Don Hume and dont tuck in my shirt. I do this almost every day and even with just a t-shirt, have never been noticed.

Only carry OWB at the range sometimes, otherwise it's IWB for me...

I carry OWB only. Tried IWB and could not get comfortable. Leather pancake holster, Springfield EMP9, all day. Very comfortable, no printing.

Other times, I carry Springfield XD9 in Blackhawk Serpa. Much more difficult to hide under the shirt, but I can manage. This config will be better once the weather gets a little cooler.

IWB around town because OC/accidental display is in a weird place legally because of jurisdictional issues. Concealed OWB out in nature.

I love the comfort of OWB, but IWB tends to be the default choice just because of the hassle.

I OC 90% of the time usually with a serpa or safariland if the gun I am carrying fits into one, and even when I do CC it's OWB in a pancake or Yaqui slide.

I open carried some in a Blackhawk Serpa before I got my CBST. I actually find IWB more comfortable. I never could figure out what to do with my right arm when I carried OWB on my hip. The gun just seemed in the way. I'm sure that's just me though.

But I do love the Serpa holster. I love that trigger finger release.
