I don't have personal experience with the warranty of streamlight but the warranty for Surefire is top notch. No receipt and they take it back and fix it or replace it with a new unit. Both seem to be of quality and do not lie about their capabilities / lumens like other companies. For a weapon light - tend to lean towards surefire.

I've vote Surefire. They always seem to "under" rate their lumens. Saying that, I was recently looking at this one:
P2X Fury Tactical
Which you can find for around $110. They have a single, and dual stage light. I was also recommended this light:
Streamlight 88040 ProTac HL 600 Lumen Flashlight
as an alternative as they were on sale for $65. If you email them (like I did) they will still honor that price. They also sell it for $65 on their Ebay store.
I haven't ordered anything yet, but it will probably be a Surefire when I do

Streamlight. The differences between the Streamlight and Surefire isn't worth the price increase, IMO.

I have two streamlights. I have not had to use warranty yet. They are both bright, they both function. I can shoot out to 100yds with the super guiding me at dusk. The strobe is absolutely blinding. For the cheaper price I will stay with stream light.

Surefire. I just picked up a fury and they were not joking when they coined it a pocket search light. I have no problems paying for quality.

I'm a big Streamlight fan. I carry a PT1L clipped to my pocket every day.
I've dropped it many times, washed it twice and it's missing some finish, but it still works just fine.
I can't justify SureFire prices when Streamlight puts out comparable, and even better products now and then, at a fraction of the cost.
The SureFire Fury lights are really nice, super bright and a much better price. I think Surefire has realized their starting to price themselves out of the commercial market on a lot of their lights since LED lights are getting really cheap and quality is rising from everyone.
Fenix, Quark, 4Sevens are also good budget options.
