My Kydex holsters. Gun, mags, AR mag

I tried my hand at making some kydex holsters for myself. They worked great at a USPSA 3 gun comp. this last weekend. Here's some pics.

The gun holster took some work to get the retention just right, but I am pleased with it now.

The double mag pouch worked great. The screw in the middle is to adjust retention. I also made a single mag pouch, but don't have a picture of it.

The AR mag pouch is pretty simple, but again, worked great.

Thanks for looking.

Nice work. I like the AR mag pouches. Been wanting to make some myself. What thickness of kydex are you using?

Awesome looking holsters, they look professionally done!
I'm also looking into making some kydex holsters. Couple questions for you,
Where did you get your parts?
What did you use to heat the kydex?
Anything you learned that would be helpful info for a newb trying to do this?

Thanks for the kind words. It's all .08 kydex. Most of everything is from knifekits.com The phillips screws are from the hardware store.

I used a toaster oven to heat the kydex. Be sure to heat slowly the first few times. I cranked it to 350 the first time, and ruined the piece I had in the oven.

Dang, looks nice. Did you follow a guide or just wing it?

I followed some general guides. I'm a carpenter by trade, so a lot of working with my hands type stuff comes easy.

I was thinking of trying to produce and sell these. Based on your guys comments, I might give it a shot. Ammo ain't cheap!

All of this OWB right? Do you run your AR mag bullets backwards or does the mag fit in either way?

My state doesn't have any CC, so everything I've done has been OWB. I've been thinking of trying IWB in the future.

I didn't know if anybody would notice, but when I put the AR mag in for a quick picture, I actually stuck it in backwards. I run all my mags on my left side bullets forward. I still fit in there ok, just kind of a funny angle. I can make mags either way. I'm making a double mag pouch for my buddy now with bullets backwards for his 226.
