Holster for Florida.
I am new to the forum, love it. I just purchased an XDM Compact 9mm.
I live in Florida where it is hot and I wear a lot of t-shirts and shorts.
I have read some old post on holsters, but thought being in Florida might make a difference in the choice.
I work at the Post Office, so I can not carry or have in my vehicle during the day while on the property. Would be only carrying it after work and where I volunteer a couple of times a week for around 5 hours at a time.
Any ideas on what would be most comfortable and not to hot?
I am also looking to get some more training, If anyone in the area has any suggestions.
Thanks John

I'm in FL to and I use a Theis Holster for my everyday carry. Works great in shorts and a t shirt.

Hello and welcome to the forum from Tampa Bay. The best choice for a holster will depend a lot on your body size and shape. Crossbreed,a forum sponsor is very popular here. Selecting a good gun belt is as important as the holster selection.
In what area of the state are you located? There are lots of training courses available for all levels of experience.

Give us a look as our holsters are not a big piece of leather up against you to make you sweat. You will not have to undo your pants to put our holster on our to remove it.I spent 34 years living in the Keys so I know what does work living in Florida while dealing with the heat. We have some great feedback on our holsters here on the forum. If we can help you out Please let us know..Thank you Larry

hey larry, question for you. whats the possibility of one of your wallet holsters for the kahr cm9? it fits the back pocket so good but the butt sticks out just a hair and i think this would be a viable solution. thanks.

I use a Crossbreed Supertuck. Wore it all summer in 90-95 temps with no problem. Sure you might sweat a bit behind the leather, but it's not an issue. A wifebeater would help, but I don't wear them.

Thanks for the feedback.
I am in Lutz, just north of Tampa.
I have a medium build, 5'11", 170 lbs, 31" waist.
I am new to all of this so I appreciate all of the advice and suggestions.
I keep hearing about a good belt makes a difference, why or how?
Do I have to change my clothes, size of waist or special pants or shirts?
Thanks again John

Alabamian here. I took the advice of other folks around here and ordered the Crossbreed Supertuck with horsehide. Not arrived yet, sadly.

I LOVE my Tennessee Holster Co holsters. As much, if not more than my Crossbreed.

I've lived in Orlando for over 20yrs (just moved away) and I'll never use another holster that isn't Crossbreed. My horsehide supertuck is perfect for FL heat and humidity.
