OWB holster recommendations

OK- first off I am working my way through threads using the search function, lots of info to absorb.
I am picking up my XDM9 in a half hour, and am concerned about the oem holster making wear marks on the gun. I am not totally anal about a little bit of character marking, but if something doesn't mark it why choose something that will?
I anticipate at this time really only using a holster for convienence at the range, but if the time comes, something I could use for drawing from for steel shooting or perhaps CCW. Do the leather or fabric holders wear the gun finish more or less than these new fangled plastic holsters?
Any recommendations that meet my criteria?

Best OWB holster around is a Milt Sparks 55BN, but you will have to wait 4-5 months for it.

Garrett Industries, LLC Designers/Manufacturers of Custom Kydex and Leather Holsters and Tactical Gear

Silent Thunder STX, the herman oak leather lined kydex is the best of both worlds.

White Hat Holsters, is what packs my XD 9 & XDM 5.25 40, 3 weeks is waiting time for holster, for the money very god holster. I bought horse hide, is softer. Pistol & Holster is very well concealed, and body friendly, only someone really knowing to look, would even notice it.

I love the Safariland ALS retention holster for my XDm 9. I's a plastic holster lined with suede to protect the gun. It has a positive retention lock that you release with your thumb as you draw. It comes with both a paddle and belt loop attachment and is adjustable for cant. I wish that they made one for my XDm 45. The one for the 9 is just too snug for my 45 which is the same size as the 9 except it is about 2mm wider.
Make sure you order the correct model number (XDm9) - Safariland ALS Paddle Holster - STX Plain Black, Right 6378-145-411 from OpticsPlanet.com.

Second for Garrett

I have to second the comments on the Garrett Silent Thunder. Best of both worlds, leather and kydex.
