For OWB holster, paddle or belt?

Noobie question - I have a CQC Serpa for my XD45c. It came with paddle and belt mount. Pros and cons for each?

I tried both, and my initial impression is the paddle is a bit more comfortable and holds the gun more stable. I know some paddles can be less secure than belt mount, but as noted on other strings, getting a Serpa paddle off practically requires stripping down. A BG who knew what he was doing would get my gun long before he got the holster off me. A BG who didn't know what he was doing wouldn't get either one.

As a disclaimer regarding belt mount, I have a sturdy work belt, but not a gun belt (it's back ordered). My early preference for the paddle includes that qualifier.

Anyhow, I'm new at this and wonder what others think.

I have tried both and much prefer the security of a belt holster. Personal preference and comfort should dictate your decision.

I know some people put the paddle only between the belt and their pants. I tried that and didn't feel like it was very secure. A cop friend of mine told me to put the paddle inside my pants. It sits between my boxers and pants. Much more stable and doesn't feel like its going to fall off. I like the ease of being able to put it on, take it off without threading it through my belt.

I use the Serpa paddle exclusively. I like being able to remove the holster quickly if I need to, and Iit seems more stable that the belt attachment.

I have Serpas for each of my auto pistols. The first thing I do is THROW AWAY, OR GIVE AWAY, THE PADDLE.

Yeah I am pretty sure you are supposed to put the paddle inside your pants, that way those little clip things actually grab the inside under the belt area of the jeans. Really secure, I can barely get the thing off half the times with my belt undone.

I only OWB carry and with a Wilderness Instructor belt.
I tried a paddle holster once and found it too bulky,
Also it didn't hold the gun securely and close enough to the body for my liking.
I like my holster and gun, snug and tight, with no lateral (or any) movement.
I never take my gun off while carrying, so that isn't a concern for me.

Nice and tight, no slack..

I think the belt offers a much more secure attachment for the holster....But you need a good belt!....Crossbreed makes wonderful belts.

I like both and use both kind, the paddle does stick out a tad more and the paddle can be removed and installed quicker when needed. but a good OWB does rides better and hides way better.
