BLACKHAWK! Serpa holster
Hi everyone, this is my first post here on xdtalk. This website has been very helpfull for a bunch of xdm info. I have noticed the mass confusion on finding holsters. Well yesterday I started my first day riding with a field training officer at a local p.d. I was carrying my xdm.40 in a blackhawk serpa holster made for a regular xd. I have used the BLACKHAWK! serpa holsters for the M9(Baretta 92) during my time in the Army, and liked them alot. To make a long story short I had to chase a robbery suspect on foot about 3/4 of a mile. This holster was great as far as retention, the weapon did not come loose at all and functioned perfect when I drew it out of this holster. I also have a safariland holster made for an xd with a 5 inch barrel that works equally well but that is more of a duty holster. I would recomend both of these holster to anyone having a hard time finding one for the new xdm.
The BLACKHAWK! part number is 410507BK-R and cost me 48.99 at a local gunstore. The safariland was a little over $100. Hope this helps anybody looking for a holster

I purchased a Serpa for my XDm 40 yesterday. Its pretty sweet. Have been wearing it around the house. It does rattle a little when moving around and that can be annoying. Love the way it clicks when you re holster. Very nice holster.

You can help eliminate some wiggle and rattle by adding the loop side of the velcro that is 3/4" wide with the self adhesive backing along the inside top of the holster. All I had was white at home to try, but you can get it in black.
Here are some pics:
You may also notice that I have installed a set of xdmlapeer grip inserts on my XDm. I really like the feel. Haven't had a chance to go and shoot with them yet.

I think most holsters that are made for the XD Tactical will fit the XDM. Im using the Don Hume 721OT and it fits like it was made for the XDM.

How comfortable is the paddle on your hip? Is the attachment to your belt / pants secure with this Serpa holster? I hate the way the XDM Gear paddle holster tends to dig into my hip, especially when sitting in the car.
The velcro DIY is a nice solution to that rattling. I've tested this holster and couldn't buy it because it rattled too much.
I am also considering a Comp-Tac OWB, or a Blade-Tech SR OWB holster for my XDM.

Good for OWB wear, does not hold in as close as some but I like the retention and fairly fast draw it allows.
