Just ordered SA Correct Grade M1

Just ordered a SA Correct Grade M1 from CMP. Should get it in about a month, anyone know what to expect. This is my first purchase from CMP.

Will it need a heavy cleaning like the Nagant's do to remove old cosmoline / grease?

I am excited, I fired a friends M1 today and was hitting accurately out to 400yds with open sights. Would like to go out farther but was limited by the range.

Congrats on getting a piece of history.. I own a CMP M1, but got it second hand so can't tell you how much he had to clean it.

I got a service grade last year and I was very pleased and it was covered in cosmo, I baked it in the oven like they suggest in the CMP forums you get a lot of awesome info from those guys. As for how long it takes well mine took about 2 months, it really depends on what is going on at the time with them. I think when I sent in they were setting up for the Camp Perry competion. just keep checking the estore and you will eventually see your order.

I got a correct grade H&R last month. It showed up in less than 30 days. I honestly don't think it had ever been fired. It was covered in cosmoline and took me about 12 hours to clean to my satisfaction. Great shooting rifle.

I should have mine by noon tomorrow. Gonna drive to port clinton and pick it out in the store and bring it home with me.
Gonna be a long day's drive but I get to pick out my own this way.
