Plainfield m1 carbine

I"m looking at one in a trade tuesday where he is putting a trade value of 230 on it. Assuming the bore is shiny ( won't buy it otherwise) he said there is rust on the flas hider, but obviously won't buy if rust on the bolt face/lug nuts/chamber/feed ramp.

Talk me through this, assuming I would buy it would it be worth 275 if I decide its not for me and to sell it? At the moment I kinda think its in line for a soft first full power load rifle to let people shoot/great hog gun/deer in texas in the rain and brush gun. Comes with 1 10 or 15 rd mag and 2 30s.

Talk to me guys I'm 25 and don't know my m1s

Might Be Priced Too Low As Trading Material?

Even the commercial Carbines, if they are complete and safe to shoot, now bring around $450 or more. FWIW, I had a Plainfield that had a large crack in the right lug area front to back. Maybe there is a reason why the trade value is so low? Dunno. HB of CJ (old coot)
