Possible virus on the site

I noticed somewhere in the sight somebody mentions being hacked. I've never had a virus in 8 years of using computers and laptops. I have experience in all things computers. But as soon as I registered here I got a virus on my laptop and it completely crashed. I believe I've fixed it now but not sure. Only logging on with me phone to be safe...but maybe something to look into.

It has nothing to do with the site. Maybe you were getting a bunch of ads from other sites you visit. Try an add on for your browser called Ad Block Plus and that will help cut down on ads and pop ups on other sites.

need to make sure you're updated. Use good AV programs; aka malwarebytes, and microsoft security essentials. Some more recent infections have been caused by out of date flash player, not to mention out of date JAVA. older versions of java don't get removed sometimes on updates, and you could be sitting on 5-6 previous versions.

I second Ad-block plus, and noscript add-ins for firefox.. Don't forget to keep firefox up to date, they're on 10.0.1 right now

My computer crashed too but after I registered for ontargetauctions.com. But it was slightly old so that may also have something to do with it

No problems on my end with either my Win7 or Ubuntu boxes. The advice about keeping your system updated (to include Java, Flash and Shockwave), as well as using MSE and Malwarebytes is solid. Hope you didn't lose too much info.
