Fal pricing? This is a discussion on Fal pricing? within the FAL Talk forums, part of the Long Gun Talk category; My LGS has an FN FAL, the 'real deal' for $4,xxx. Seems WAY high. Is that really what they're going for now'a'days?...

Price depends on the manufacturer, year of manufacture, and the variant of the rifle. Otherwise, the price continues to climb on them because there are no more demilled parts kits being imported, and the reasonably priced imble stripped upper recievers that were imported for several years are no longer importable either. The last one I had assembled with an imble very good parts kit, and imbel receiver, and the 7 US made parts was a little over 600.00. Now, I would guess you would be looking at least 1000.00 if not more. A DSA receiver is 350.00 and a decent parts kit will run at least that much.

That link to Gbroker is no longer there so if it was really one of the very few exempted ones with the (IIRC) full auto receiver , they are very expensive, but if it was one of the later imports with the semi only receiver, last I checked they were selling for 2500 (add for a couple years of inflation) so 4k does sound high. If it is anything else the price should be under 2k and if it is a CIA or Hesse, et al then under 600 is high... IMO

Yeah, I thought $4k was high. But it's the most expensive shop in town. Collector's Firearms, for those local to Houston.
I don't really buy there, but they have fantastic inventory. So I finger **** a lot of their guns to see if I like them before ordering online.

DSArms SA58. 100% new manufactured here in the USA.
They also have rifles built on imported kits. Less money but still top quality.

How about a real FAL, not a clone?? You can get a NOS Argentine FAL kit from SARCO, this is a semi auto military FAL built in Argentina by FMAP under license from FN. The kits come into the US in pieces with no receiver, so you need to obtain a FAL receiver, the best being Imbel, Coonan and DSA.
You then assemble or have assembled your FAL with 7 US built parts for 922r compliance. Now you have a REAL, non-clone FN spec FAL built with new parts. Best of all worlds.

Depends on your definition of "real". Some would define a real FAL as an original imported rifle. I would say DSArms FALs are real. They are as good or better than any military FAL ever made.
But original imports are in a class by themselves. If you want to brag you have a "real" FAL that's what you want.
If you want a great shooter, a DSArms or a well built kit is the way to go.
